Personal essay update.

I made some positive moves forward on my personal essay largely due to the “Writing Staycation” class at The Writer’s Center in Bethesda.

The instructor of the class was able to help me focus my ideas and give me some insight on the graduate admissions process.

I’d certainly take her class again.

  1. Writing the personal statement takes the most time on an application, and going beyond “I like books” is pretty important! 😛 Congrats on your breakthrough on it! The Writing Staycation sounds like a neat thing!

  2. That class sounds really cool! I’ll have to check it out sometime. That’s good that you were able to get some help. I agree with Leslie, the personal statement is so nerve-wracking, trying to figure out just the right way to talk about who you are, and what you want to accomplish in librarianship. Congrats on the progress!
